When this is the answer

01

The same drain has backed up more than once

Something is still in the line. A hydro jetting is how we find out what.

02

A Farmington property of typical local age

Historic downtown vs new development, which narrows the likely causes considerably.

03

Several fixtures affected at once

Points at the shared line rather than any single drain.

Drains and sewers only

Not a plumbing company with a drain page. This is the whole job.

A camera on recurring calls

If a drain has backed up before, guessing at it twice is not a plan.

Northern Utah homes

Cast iron, clay lateral, hard water scale, roots. The local failure modes.

Hydro Jetting in Farmington

Farmington housing is a historic downtown with much newer development out toward the retail and transit area, which usually means old lines in the historic streets, modern PVC in the new build. The age of a property is the best single predictor of what its drain lines are made of, and that decides what a hydro jetting is likely to show.

Farmington’s historic streets have the mature trees and old clay laterals that go with them. The newer development is a different world below ground, and the two ends of town rarely have the same problem.

What we look for in Farmington lines

Jetting an older line is a decision that follows the camera, not one that precedes it. Cast iron that has thinned can be in no condition to take pressure, and the scale may be doing more structural work than anyone would like. Where the pipe is sound, jetting takes grease off a rough wall that a cable would only bore through.

That is the Farmington version of the question. The general case, including when this service is the wrong choice, is covered on the hydro jetting page.

Access in Farmington

Older properties often have the cleanout in the basement rather than outside, and on some of the oldest housing there is no accessible cleanout at all. That is worth establishing on the phone, because it changes both the approach and the cost.

Farmington is inside our regular Davis County service area, so travel is not the constraint. Access at the property usually is.

Before we recommend anything

It suits grease, sludge and soft build-up. It is not appropriate for a pipe that is already cracked, which is the reason we look before we jet.

If the line turns out to be sound, that is what we will tell you. A recurring blockage on its own is not evidence that a sewer needs replacing.

Is a hydro jetting right for my problem?

Tell us what the drain is doing and we will tell you whether this is what you need or whether something simpler covers it.

What if you find nothing wrong?

Then that is what we tell you. On a line that has backed up repeatedly, finding a sound pipe is often the most valuable thing you can learn.

Not sure if this is what you have?

Tell us what the drain is doing. We will tell you what usually causes that pattern before you commit to anything.

What is the drain doing?

What is the drain doing?

Worth saying up front. If the pipe turns out to be healthy, we will tell you that. We do not turn a drain cleaning call into a sewer replacement pitch.

Backing up right now? (801) 643-5784

What we do when the pipe is fine

No fault found

Sometimes the camera goes down a line that has backed up three times and finds nothing wrong with the pipe. Grease, or roots at one joint, or a fixture that was never vented properly. The pipe itself is sound.

When that happens we clean it properly, tell you what caused it, and leave. That is the whole visit. A recurring clog is not evidence that a sewer needs replacing, and we are not going to say it is.

Tell us what the drain is doing

Describe the symptom and we will tell you what usually causes it. If it needs a look, we will come and look.

No call-out pressure and no sewer replacement pitch. If cleaning is the fix, cleaning is what we quote.
